Slightly different Week 9 Preview
So...now I have the added power of blogging and I have no idea what to do. I've decided to do my own Preview even though I have no major disagreement with Doug this week except on his own game (big surprise). Without further ado:
5-3 Beavers @ 7-1 Drow
I don't know that it matters how many times these teams have played, I'm looking at line-ups and match-ups...and I actually think Beavers have a chance to win. Drow is going with Schuab over Rodgers and Beavers gets back Bob Sanders this week. Both RBs will have field days with bad defenses but I give the QB edge to Beavers against my not so great Seahawks. If Graham doesn't score more than 20 points I think Drow gets it's second loss.
Line: Beavers by 3.
5-3 Malleus @ 5-3 Capo
I love to say that I'm going to win this game, and I have an off chance of doing it with Plax and TO not doing much lately. I also hate to root for the Steelers over the 'Skins and Ben has had bad luck against the NFC East. I'll take the loss in this one.
Line: Capo by 3.
5-3 Bill's Team @ 5-3 Flannel
The former division leaders...I like Flannel's moves lately, but Bill did what he needed to do to fill holes also. Flannel hasn't set their players yet and if they don't this toss-up goes to Bill. As the teams stand right now:
Line: Bill by 6.
5-3 Mimes @ 1-7 Brawlers
This could be a closer game than it should be with both Gore and Rivers on byes...but Pennington looks decent and Hightower is the new starter in Arizona. Using one TE occasionally as a WR is sometimes a good move, but two? Westbrook almost beat my defense by himself last week and his match-up is just as good this week, but I still have to give this one to the Mighty Mimes and thier "D."
Line: Mimes by 5.
3-5 Old No. 7 @ 2-6 Ramjets
I know I picked Ramjets to win the FLOF bowl, but...then they lost again last week, this one puts them out of the division hunt and into dangerous missing-the-playoffs ground. Portis and Edwards have bad match-ups, though Eli might go off against the Cowgirls. Forte and Garrard play the two worst defenses this week and I think the whiskey bottle can steal this game.
Line: Old No. 7 by 5.
3-5 Rednecks @ 2-6 Hamburglers
What happened to the Hamburglers that I picked as first in the pre-season? I hate to predict this but even with Bulger at QB, this is the one blow-out of the week, at least on paper. But that's why we play the games.
Line: Rednecks by 15.

Great to see a preview from someone other then the commish :)
I see that Haydn's prognostications are spot on, at least when it coems to Beavers.
