Week 8 Awards
Player of the Week and Defensive Player of the Week
Rob Bironas sealed the Beaver win Monday night but this was Patrick Kerney's game. His 19 pt effort stands out as the best on that fantasy field this weekend in a relatively close game. Honorable mention to Santana Moss who scored 21 for Flannel's win but it would not have been enough without a superb effort by Peyton Manning to close out that come from behind win Monday night.
Offensive Player of the Week
Brian Westbrook rattled off 30 pts to jump start the Brawlers' offense in a losing effort. That is twice as many points as all but one other RB this week. Honorable mention for Santana Moss' 21 pt effort for Flannel.
Goat of the Week
Reggie Wayne could have easily foiled Flannel's come from behind win with anything close to his usual effort. Instead, his 1 point helped Hamburglers fall 4 short of Flannel.
Bench Player of the Week
Tony Gonzalez scored 9 on Hamburglers' bench and watched Reggie Wayne come up small with only 1 pt in a 4 pts loss.
This was the only bench player I saw who could have made a difference in the win and loss column but there were a couple other really notible bench players. Lito Shepard scored 17 sitting on Brawlers' bench. Will Demps only scored 1 pt as the starter but the extra 16 would not have converted into a win. And Anquan Boldin scored 17 on Old No. 7's bench while Marvin Harrison contributed real close to nothing for the old whiskey bottle.
