Week 9: Rednecks, Beavers, Flannel extend division leads
Four of the last six games for every Middle Division team will be a divisional game. Starting with the next two weeks. Meanwhile the Left host the Right.
(5-4) Old No. 7 5 @ (2-6-1) Bill's Team 42
Bill's offense showed up with some solid points from Marion Barber at RB to compliment some points from Carson Palmer. The Old No. 7 offense just doesn't seem to have much left after a season of injuries.

Next Week: Old No. 7 host Malleus, Bill visits Rednecks
(2-5-2) Malleus 20 @ (6-3) Rednecks 30
In a game featuring two of the better FLOF QBs this year, Larry Johnson steals the limelight and powers the Redneck offense over Malleus. Too bad L.J. gets hurt as soon as he starts to play better.

(4-5) Hamburglers 40 @ (4-5) Drow 22
Oddly, this game was all about the defenses. Hamburglers' woke up and scored more then since week 2. Drow's disappeared. Again. Hamburglers got a ton from Roethlisberger to carry the offense Monday night.

(4-5) Ramjets 11 @ (7-2) Beavers 32
Alex Smith's -8 was worthy of Goat consideration, but would it have mattered? The Ramjets' offense continues to regress while Beavers continue to prove you can win with just one player. If that player is Adrian Peterson. (For the record, Peterson would not have beat Ramjets all by himself. But it would have been close.)

(5-4) Capo 64 @ (3-5-1) Brawlers 50
Give Brawlers credit. They've pulled themselves off the mat and gave Capo a game despite Capo 3rd consecutive 100 pt game behind scary points from Brees, Moss, and Owens. Brawlers would have beat almost any other team this week.

(8-1) Flannel 47 @ (2-7) Mimes 5
If it weren't for Capo we'd be talking about how Flannel has scored 79 or more in 4 straight, 55 or more on offense during that time. Mimes just do not have enough on this team this year to compete with that.

How is Old No 7 a "sinking team" when they are 5-3 with wins in 2 of their last 3? Must be the same criteria that makes a 6-2 Beavers team get a C+ team rating! Maybe if the Beavers makes it to 10 wins, they can get a B-!!
Sure. Lets look at Old No. 7's last 5 games.
Week 4. They score 77 total pts. A good solid, unspectacular total. They get a deserved win.
Week 5. They score 47 total pts. Bad result, they get a loss.
Week 6. 55 pts. Another bad result. 8 teams scored more then them that week. They get a win because they lucked out and played one of the 3 teams that fared worse then them.
Week 7. 72 pts. Another solid but unspectacular win. They actually scored right at the median for that week so this win, while not "lucky," was certainly fortunate.
Week 8. 39 pts. Worst of the week.
So the last 5 weeks have seen 2 solid performances that got them wins and 3 really bad performances that they got a lucky win out of. They could easily be 1-4 through that same stretch.
And the Beavers...
Over the last 4 weeks they have scored 56, 75, 78, and 102.
56 isn't a good score, 75 and 78 are solid scores and 102 is fabulous. Through out the top and bottom and you have two solid, above average scores. That's a C+ in my book.
I don't think you can look at wins when trying to figure out if a team is going to win this week or not, you have to look at actual performance in a vacuum not performance against last week's opponent.
