Week 5: Old No. 7 can't win in division; Bill hates the commish; Flannel eeks out win; Capo falls to curses, again
Three teams are now tied for the division lead in the Middle. All four Left Division teams are with-in a game. While the Flannel now lead the pack by 3 games.
12 Old No. 7 (3-2) at 38 Malleus (2-1-2)
Malleus gets their first home win and Old No. 7 runs their excellent divisional record to 1-7. Malleus is back into a share of the lead courtesy of big Monday night games by Terrance McGee and co-Offensive Player of the Week, Nick Folk.
Old No. 7 by 11
Next Week: Old No. 7 at Brawlers; Malleus at Drow
36 Rednecks (3-2) at 0 Bill (1-3-1)
Rednecks put together the only really solid game this week getting Tom Brady support from Jason Witten and Nate Keading and Demarcus Ware. Despite a resent Goat performance, Carson Palmer was missed by Bill who scored a combined 1 pt at QB and RB.
Bill by 13
Next week: Rednecks at Mimes; Bill at Beavers
10 Brawlers (2-2-1) at 12 Flannel (5-0)
This was not a game to write home about, other then proving that this is Flannel's year. Flannel scored a combined 46 at home but still eek out a win. Game ball goes to the home crowd in this one.
Flannel by 16.5
Next week: Brawlers host Old No. 7; Flannel visit Hamburglers
15 Beavers (3-2) at 0 Hamburglers (1-4)
The Beaver defense came up huge this week. Especially Aaron Ross who even added a TD to his 2 INTs. The Beaver offense was still nothing to write home about, but the win gets them back over .500, while the Hamburglers fall continues.
Beavers by 2
Next week: Beavers host Bill; Hamburglers host Flannel
0 Drow (2-3) at 13 Ramjets (2-3)
The Drow offense went back to their week 1 woes thanks in large part to Goat of the Week, Matt Hasselback's 0 pts. The Ramjet Defense came up big this week getting strong work from Jason Taylor and Sean Taylor.
Drow by 6
Next week: Drow host Malleus; Ramjets visit Capo
25 Mimes (1-3) at 8 Capo (2-2)
Every time a new ranking comes out, the number 1 team takes the plung. This is the second time its bit Capo. Perhaps Chris will not be so quick to thank me next time I give him the top spot. Then again, it doesn't help when no player on your team scored double digits. And Philip Rivers finally finds his good form from last year.
Capo by 50 (Chris, consider this line something to keep you interested this week, a goal if you will)
Next week: Mimes host Rednecks; Capo host Ramjets
