Week 6 Preview
Last week I was 1 of 6. Can’t do much worse,
right?
N.Y.
Hamburglers (3-2) @ Rednecks (2-3)
The Rednecks
open with 22 points from last night’s game, with Cutler posting a pretty good
score. I think my squad can hang offensively with the Luck/Charles combo, but
the Hamburglers bring a much better defense to the party and it will show this
week.
Prediction: Rednecks go down at home.
Hamburglers
33 – Rednecks 24
Bill's
Team (3-2) @ Mighty Midtowne Mimes (1-4)
Brandon
Marshall got Bill off to a good start and the Mimes got nothing from Tillman.
Got a feeling this game is going to be more of a defensive struggle, as both
teams are at the bottom for overall offensive output, and nothing from the
match-ups this weekend lead me to believe that trend will end.
Prediction: Bill moves to 4 wins.
Bill 21 –
Mimes 16
Old No. 7
(2-3) @ Medicine Hat Bronies (2-3)
Although this is a battle of 2-3 teams, they
are near the top of the league in terms of power and are pretty closely matched.
That being said, No. 7 is finally starting to show life after a tough start and
I think that will continue. And that applies even if Manning gets pulled in the
3rd quarter from boredom.
Prediction:
Old No. 7 moves to .500.
Old No. 7
30 – Bronies 27
Malleus
Maleficarum (1-4) @ Massaponnax Maniacs (2-3)
Neither team did anything of particular note
in last night’s contest. This is a funny game to call. On the one hand, I like new-comer
Brees for Malleus, but not much else. On the other hand, I think Lynch could
win this all by himself for the Maniacs, but to date, their defense has been
non-existent. In the end though, I think the defense will get it done for
Malleus, but barely.
Prediction: Malleus
notch win #2.
Malleus 20
– Maniacs 18
Capo Di
Tutti Capi (2-3) @ Drow (5-0)
Assuming that Capo start ex-Malleus players
Brady and Rice, I think Capo could make it interesting for undefeated Drow. I
think both team could score and score a bunch this weekend. However, the Drow
are supporting the best defense in the league. That should be enough to down
Capo, who is near the bottom in said department.
Prediction: Drow remains undefeated.
Drow 44 –
Capo 28
Dynasty (4-1)
@ Iron City Lagers (3-2)
Tim Jennings was a one-man-wrecking crew for
the Lagers last night, posting an impressive 28 points. Manning got the ball
rolling for Dynasty with a paltry 5 point effort. The Dynasty squad was going
to need all the help they could get knocking off a strong Lagers team. They won’t
get it.
Prediction: Lagers
abuse Dynasty.
Lagers 38
– Dynasty 10
