Week 7 Computer Rankings -- A League of Mediocrity and Malleus
Eleven times has a team scored 95 or more points this season. Malleus' has done it seven times -- or every single week this year.
Interesting statistical trend (perhaps only to me). So far this year, the median score is 75.5. The last 3 years the median has been 72 or 71. However, the high end of the scale is much closer to the median then past years. So far this year the 83rd percentile score is only 14 points above the median. The last two seasons that gap has been over 20 points. Looking closer at the numbers, it seems that offenses are just not generating as many big games as they have in the last couple of seasons. Well, offenses not run by Haydn that is.
All numbers here are based on the last four weeks of the season, so most movement in rankings is related to the newest game results as it compares the week that just got too old for the computer to care about.
EWP predictions for week 8. The computer was 3-3 last week, 11-7 overall.
