Week 7 Recap - Monday Night Preview
Couple of upsets and the Hammer keeps on pounding...
Malleus 43 @ Drow 15
Despite a solid effort from Rodgers, Drow went with Stevan Ridley instead of Purple Jesus who scored 20, the extra 16 points would have made it closer, but probably wouldn't be enough anyway. Malleus WR corps of Jackson and Colston were involved in a shootout that netted the Hammer 33 points, and even with a down game from Rice, I managed to score 64 on offense. Every week someone comes through for Malleus. Drow continues to struggle on D. Each team has a player left: Briggs (DF, Chi) for the Hammer, Peppers (DF, Chi) for Drow. Will Peppers score 20 more than Briggs? No. Will Briggs score a pick 6 for the 3rd game in a row? Probably not, but hopefully I won't need it. Malleus stays undefeated.
Yep. Briggs had a big game, no pick 6, but not bad. Malleus is 7-0.
Flannel 6 @ GRAV 17
Both teams started inactive players, Flannel went with Isaac Redman (RB, Pit) and GRAV played Colin McCarthy (DF, Ten), neither manager had an option though, since Clay decided not to get back to me about Fred Jackson (who scored more than Ray Rice this week, 13), and GRAV has 2 other DFs out also. Nothing impressive about either of these teams this week, but looks like an "upset" for GRAV. Flannel does have 2 players left, Suh, and Hanson. It is possible for them to combine for 18, Cutler is sackable and I have Hanson on my other team. I don't see a rally happening though, I'll call this one for GRAV.
Suh gets a sack and Hanson 1 PAT. Not nearly enough. Upset for GRAV.
Capo 34 @ Lagers 25
After great games from Brees for Capo and Foster for ICL they head into the only really interesting showdown tonight. Capo takes a 16 point lead and Matt Forte and Lagers counter with Stafford and Megatron. I think this is a shoot out (I almost started Cutler over Brady) but I think the 16 points will hold on, barely. Capo keeps this one, by inches.
Not a shoot out, Stafford gets 1 garbage TD, Megatron only gets 54 yards. I'll call this one a "upset" because of Capo's record.
Whiskey 31 @ Bronies 33
My apologies to both of you as I seemed to have most of my edits come from this game so if you checked this morning Bronies won, and then a little later O7, and now finally Bronies again after a 2nd PD for Willis that I missed from Thursday. Super close game, Fitz filled in admirably for Manning and Gronk delivered after the trade from Malleus, but it wasn't quite enough as Jason's D really let him down and Bronies was solid. Too many 'what ifs' for both teams, plenty of points on the bench. This could easily have been a tie.
Hamburglers 25 @ Bill 27
Depsite losing MJD after 6 yards, the 'burglers are still winning this one. Bill missed out on CJ2Ks first ridiculous game (30 points) but got a solid game from Alfred Morris. Both Big Ben and Cam Newton struggled. Bill has Brandon Marshall left and the Ham has Stephen Tulloch. Because I think tonight's game is a shootout I think Bill can pull the upset.
Tulloch has a good game, but not quite enough to counteract Marshall. Another upset.
Mimes 32 @ Rednecks 2
This one is Mimes, they have Tillman tonight to add to the insult. This was an upset, but Mimes actually got a really good game out of mostly back ups, especially Josh Freeman (34 points), and managed to score the 2nd most points offensively this week (so far, wait for tonight and see what Lagers does). Rednecks can't get good play out of Flacco at the right time and doesn't seem to trust Vick. Mostly it must be because John picked himself to win. ;)
Big upset. Mimes ties Malleus for the most points this week.

2 Comments:
PHI was also on a bye. However, this week Vick managed to score as much as Flacco, even not playing.
I meant 'trust' in general, but yeah, maybe Vick would've been a better choice. At the same time, Darin had a really good game.
