Week 5 Rankings: We Have a New #1
1. Mimes, up 1
Mimes are really clicking on all cylinders right now. Their median score over the past 4 weeks is 91 total pts. No one else is really even close to that and they are doing it on both side of the ball.
Overall Grade: A+, Offense A-, Defense A
2. Flannel, down 1
This is the danger of running with a better defense then your offense: week 5 was Flannel's first sub-excellent defensive effort and they lost. The offense has scored in the low 40s the last two games and that puts a lot of pressure on the D.
Overall Grade: A-, Offense B-, Defense A-
3. Old No. 7, up 1
Old No. 7 are doing it with consistency. Their worst effort of the season was week 4's 69 pt effort. No other team's worst effort has been that good.
Overall Grade: A-, Offense B, Defense C-
4. Bill's Team, down 1
The offense scored 70 and 80 pts in weeks 2 and 3. They scored 26 and 32 the next two weeks. That needs to get fixed.
Overall Grade: A-, Offense B, Defense B
5. Buffalo Bills, up 1
Week 5 we saw the good Buffalo Bills. Right on schedule. Buffalo's worst team performance on an odd week has been 86 pts. Their best even-week performance was 69 pts. Lets see what happens this week.
Overall Grade: A-, Offense B-, Defense A-
6. Ramjets, up 3
Ramjets' week 1 stinker is a distant memory, but they are amazingly still looking for their first win. They have scored in the 70s in three of their last four games but keep matching up with higher scoring teams.
Overall Grade: B, Offense B-, Defense C-
7. Drow, down 2
Drow haven't strung together two good games since weeks 1 and 2. Week four's 87 pt effort was followed up by their season worst 48. Both sides of the ball have been inconsistent to say the least.
Overall Grade: B, Offense B-, Defense C-
8. Beavers, no change
After putting up 32 points in week 3, they bounce back with 80 points in week 4... and then revert to being a bad team with 60 pts in week 5. Like the Buffalo Bill's they are alternating good and bad games every week, but their good games haven't been as good and their bad games have been worse.
Overall Grade: C, Offense D, Defense A-
9. Capo, down 1
Its time to consider wether the 100 pts Capo scored week 1 was an illusion. Since then they haven't scored more then 69 pts in a game. Neither the offense nor the defense are doing particularly badly, but neither have provided any explosiveness either.
Overall Grade: C, Offense B-, Defense C-
10. Malleus, up 1
That's two games in a row that Malleus looked like a real team. Week's 2 and 3 were pretty bad with a combined 66 pts, but they managed 78 pts in week 5 with improvement on both sides of the ball.
Overall Grade: D, Offense D, Defense D
11. Hamburglers, down 1
The offense actually did ok for a second game in a row. But after scoring 20 or more for three consecutive weeks, the defense decided to take a game off in week 5 and scored only 8 pts leaving week 4 as Hamburglers' only decent game of the season.
Overall Grade: D, Offense C, Defense B-
12. Brawlers, no change
The offense kept it going with their second consecutive above average performance. But the defense is the worst unit in FLOF right now. Their median score over the last 4 weeks is 13 points which is 11 points below the season average.
Overall Grade: D, Offense C, Defense F

It's FIRING ON ALL CYLINDERS, you rube!
Actually, clicking on all cyclinders would probably be a bad thing. I think they make an oil additive for that...
