Week 14 Preview
This weekend brings the last game of the FLoF
regular season. There was an actual NFL game last night, but nothing of note
happened, pretty much like the fantasy scores posted by all involved.
Rednecks
(4-8-1) @ Hamburglers (8-4-1)
The Rednecks enter this game on a meaningless
2 game tear. Got a feeling though that this is the end of that. This is likely
the week my offense puts up less than 30. I also have the feeling this is the
week that Luck gets back on track, and between him and Charles, the Hamburglers
should score more than enough, and the Rednecks go down in spectacular fashion.
Prediction: Hamburglers
Hamburglers
42 – Rednecks 17
Mighty
Midtowne Mimes (6-7) @ Bill (10-3)
The Mimes rank at the bottom in terms of
offensive power, according to the rankings. No reason to think this week they
break out, as I really don’t like the match up for Kaepernick. Once you factor
in that I really DO like the match ups for Bill this week, with Newton and
Marshall leading the way, I think this could be another blow out game.
Prediction:
Bill
Bill 40 –
Mimes 20
Dynasty (7-6)
@ Capo Di Tutti Capi (2-9-2)
Dynasty has been predictably average this
year, but looking at this match up, that should be more than enough to handle
Capo this week. Outside of Brady, I don’t
like any of the match up for Capo, even if he does some last minute subs of
bench players. Without Capo pushing any offense, and
a terrible defense to go along with it, Dynasty should cruise.
Prediction:
Dynasty
Dynasty 36
- Capo 16
Old No. 7
(5-7) @ Malleus Maleficarum (4-8-1)
Interestingly enough, these 2 teams are in
the upper ranks of the power rating, but neither have the records that would
reflect that. This match up looks to be coming down to a battle between an offense
– No. 7 – and a defense – Malleus. The only issue I see here for Malleus is there
appears to be a lot of offense coming at him. There isn't a single match up I don’t
like for No. 7, and I wouldn't be stunned to see both Manning and Murray as the
top scorers at their respective positions.
Prediction:
Old No. 7
No. 7 35
– Malleus 24
Maniacs (4-9)
@ Bronies (5-7-1)
The Bronies are an interesting team. They
currently sit at #3 overall (#4 in offense, #2 in defense) in the power
rankings, yet are fighting for the playoff lives this week. Seems like a good
week to host a tumultuous Maniacs team, with and their bottom dwelling defense.
The Maniacs do have a little something to offer on the offensive side of
things, and should post a similar number to the Bronies, but the lack of any D should
about do it for the Bronies.
Prediction: Bronies
Bronies 34
– Maniacs 25
Drow (11-2)
@ Iron City Lagers (9-4)
And finally, we have what appears to be the
game of the week. Both teams are the class of FLoF, and it’s an
inter-divisional game to boot. The Drow bring a better defense, while the Lagers
bring a more powerful O. The only question now is if Drow can blunt enough of
what I believe will be the top scorer of the week, with Lager poised to comfortably
post up to 90 points this week. Sorry Doug, but after the 11-0 start, it looks
like you end on a 3 game losing streak in a shootout.
Prediction: Lagers
Lagers 46
- Drow 42
