Week 9 Preview
Eight of the league’s 12 teams are 4 and 4.
This week looks to add a little clarity at the top - at least until next week.
Export
Flannel (4-4) @ N.Y. Hamburglers (4-4)
Even though
these 2 teams have identical records, statically the Hamburglers are a better team,
and heavily favored by the computer. I don’t think the stats mean anything this
week.
Prediction: Flannel
wins with better matchups
Flannel 28
– Hamburglers 23
Malleus Maleficarum
(8-0) @ Mighty Midtowne Mimes (3-5)
The Mimes
have a pretty good team. However, the league’s best team is on tap this week. Without
the Rednecks to beat up, the Mimes will drop their 2 game win streak.
Prediction: The
first undefeated season in store?
Malleus 40
– Mimes 16
Iron City
Lagers (4-4) @ Murrysville Drow (4-4)
Two rather
evenly matched teams for this game.
Looking at the matchups though, I am going to have to take the Lagers in
a shootout.
Prediction: Drow
is undone by his defense this week – again
Lagers 43
–Drow 34
Medicine
Hat Bronies (4-4) @ Gainesville Random Acts of Violence (2-6)
Based on the
records, it should be a win for the Bronies. Looking at the matchups though, I
think GRAV pulls this one out (with the caveat that he switches his guys on the
BYE).
Prediction: Gainesville ride home field to a W.
Gainesville
18 – Bronies 14
Old No. 7
(4-4) @ Bill’s Team (4-4)
Another game
featuring teams with identical records. Statically,
No. 7 should win this. In this case, I will take what the numbers tell me.
Prediction: Bill’s league worst Offense kills his
chances on the road
Old No. 7
27 – Bill 19
Capo Di
Tutti Capi (3-5) @ Rednecks (4-4)
Capo has won 2 straight, while the Rednecks
have dropped the last 2. Based on the matchups and stastics, I think Capo evens his record,
while the Rednecks continue to slide.
Prediction:
Capo keeps the Rednecks reeling
Capo 31 -
Rednecks 22

Thanks for cursing me by mentioning the whole undefeated thing. I'm just hoping I don't have what happened to Pats a few years ago happen and win every game but the one that matters...
