Week 6 Rankings
The last couple of weeks, the rankings have taken on a 3-tiered look to me. With a hand-full of teams pretty consistently putting up very solid to very good scores week after week. Then there is a large mass of teams all bouncing around average. Finally, our bedrock teams in the pretty consistently terrible category.
The consistent upper tier:
1) Malleus (up 1)
The consistent upper tier:
1) Malleus (up 1)
median EWP = 95%, average EWP = 92%, variance = 8%
Our first new number 1 since the season started. Those first two games are finally over the horizon of our 4-game tracking. Malleus have also been the most consistent team over the last 4 games, all wins.
2) Mimes (down 1)
median EWP = 87%, average EWP = 81%, variance = 18%
Mimes finally had a near average performance this week. Obviously too soon to declare a trend but they clearly have competition now for statistical dominance. Too bad it hasn't equated to wins as they are 1-2-1 over their last 4 and worst in opponent luck, losing 1.7 more game then they should have based on their EWP.

3) Drow (no change)
median EWP = 78%, average EWP = 76%, variance = 18%
Drow rose back up from 2 average weeks to put together another very good score this weekend. But got a tie instead of a win - in line with their near Mime-like opponent luck.

4) Lagers (no change)
median EWP = 74%, average EWP = 59%, variance = 36%
Lagers have been on a run their last 3 and have been better then Drow over that period. I would not be surprised to see them vault Drow next week when I start ignoring their stinker of a week 3 game.
The amorphous middle tier:
5) Rednecks (up 2)
5) Rednecks (up 2)
median EWP = 61%, average EWP = 65%, variance = 20%
Rednecks continue their consistent plodding through the FLOF schedule. Lately its been working as they have picked up 3 wins in a row to claim the division lead.
6) Beavers (down 1)
median EWP = 63%, average EWP = 60%, variance = 33%
6) Beavers (down 1)
median EWP = 63%, average EWP = 60%, variance = 33%
Beavers are a similar team to Rednecks but with higher highs and lower lows. This last week was one of those lows with 53 points while week 4 was a high with 107. Ironically, they won both and lost their nice solid above average scores the other two recent weeks.
7) CAPO (down 1)
median EWP = 61%, average EWP = 54%, variance = 8%
Its been a weird season for CAPO so far. They've played well enough to separate themselves from the rest of the division, but are 0-1-2 over their last 3 and have fallen back to the pack.
8) Old No. 7 (no change)
median EWP = 48%, average EWP = 47%, variance = 41%
The ol' whiskey bottle managed to stop their free-fall in the rankings after a very solid score this week but still managed to lose number 3 in a row.
9) Bill (no change)
median EWP = 46%, average EWP = 50%, variance = 31%
Bill continues to hover near the bottom of this tier in the rankings and continued to alternate between bad results and better results. This week was a bad result.
The majority of the Right Division:
10) Ramjets (up 1)
median EWP = 27%, average EWP = 35%, variance = 41%
Weeks 3 and 4 were one of the worst back-to-back games you'll see with consecutive scores in the 30s. They doubled that production for week 5 and put up 89 this weekend. If this is a trend, look for Ramjets to escape the basement of the rankings next week.
11) Hamburglers (down 1)
median EWP = 29%, average EWP = 26%, variance = 12%
If you like your terrible to be consistent, this is your team. Their best score over the last 4 games is 62, their worst is 47.
12) Flannel (no change)
median EWP = 21%, average EWP = 23%, variance = 24%
If you like your terrible with a side of inconsistent, welcome to Export. Week 4 they scored a league-wide season low of 20. Last weekend they got up to 68. Although, that was actually their 2nd week in a row above 60...
