Week 7 Review
Drow 62 - Beavers 23
The Beaver D came to play, but the offense did not hold up its end of the bargain. Adrian Peterson was the only Beaver offensive player with a double digit score. Meanwhile all but one Drow offensive player scored in double digits, two topped 20 pts -- rendering Drow's defensive lapse ignorable this week.
Studs: Cedric Benson (Drw, 26), Darren Sharper (Bvr, 15), Vincent Jackson (Drw, 13), Charles Woodson (Bvr, 12), Aaron Rodgers (Drw, 24), Nate Kaeding (Drw, 13)
Duds: Lance Moore (Bvr, 0), Stephen Cooper (Bvr, 0)
Mimes 17 - IC Lagers 13
I thought the Lagers would come back Monday night and steal this win, but Westbrook got hurt early in the game and Lagers fall 4 pts shy of Mimes. That's an injury that Lagers will be watching closely this week. Exciting finish aside, neither team played well this week.
Studs: James Farrior (ICL, 14), Philip Rivers (MM, 25), Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie (ICL, 10)
Duds: Brian Westbrook (ICL, 0), Hines Ward (ICL, 0), D'Qwell Jackson (ICL, 0)
Rednecks 16 - Flannel 14
Flannel also had their Monday night contingent let them down. Three players totaled 6 pts... 3 pts shy of Rednecks. Peyton Manning and Tom Brady scored right around half of their respective team's offensive pts this week... that's not a lot of help. The difference in this game was Rednecks' defense which has turned into a strength after early season issues.
Studs: Demarcus Ware (Rdn, 13), James Harrison (Fln, 11), Antrel Rolle (Rdn, 11)
Duds: none
No. 7 61 - CAPO 24
Neither team played much defense in this one. Old No. 7 made up for it with an offensive break-out led by DeSean Jackson and a resurgent Tony Romo. Ironically, Jackson was also No. 7's best RB on the day.
Studs: DeSean Jackson (no7, 20), Tony Romo (no7, 29)
Duds: Osi Umenyiora (CAPO, 0)
Malleus 9 - Hamburglers 5
Thomas Jones and Nick Folk did just enough to overcome a strong Hamburgler defense to get Malleus their first non-division win.
Studs: Darrelle Revis (Ham, 14), Nick Folk (Mal, 14), Reggie Wayne (Ham, 10), Gibril Wilson (Ham, 10)
Duds: none
Ramjets 27 - Bill 27
The 4th tie so far this year. I have no idea what the record is for one season, but we may already be past it. Both teams did respectable jobs on both sides of the ball.
Studs: Brandon Merriweather (Rmj, 21), Carson Palmer (Bil, 32), Adrian Wilson (Bil, 12), Wesley Welker (Rmj, 11)
Duds: Braylon Edwards (Rmj, 0)
Note: In case anyone was wondering. Studs are players who scored in the 83-percentile or higher for their position and duds scored in the bottom 16% for their position.
