Week 9: Left Division Tightens Up
46 Beavers @ 9 Drow
Beavers' offense exploded behind a combined 40 from McNabb and A.P. Drow got only 2 points from their backfield. This game pulls Beavers (and Mimes) to within one game of Drow in the Left. Drow have a chance at redemption next week. If Beavers make it two in a row next week, they will at least share the Division lead.
Beavers upset Drow and their 8 pt line
Beaver Grade: B, offense: A, defense: D
Drow Grade: F, offense: F, defense: C
0 Malleus @ 14 Capo
Capo's offense sputtered again but the defense came up big and Malleus offered little resistence. LaMarr Woodley and Courtland Finnegan combined for 22 pts to lead Capo to sole posession of first in the Right Division. Malleus fall to one game behind Middle Division leader Bill.
Capo cover their 3.5 pt line
Capo grade: D, offense: D, defense: B
Malleus grade: F, offense: F, defense: D
4 Bill's Team @ 0 Flannel
Bill's defense went crazy this week and overwhelmed a decent outing from Flannel. But Bill's offense only barely capitalized for the win. Three Bill defenders scored double digit points to keep Flannel off the scoreboard. Bill re-takes first place in Middle Division while Flannel fall out of first in the Right for the first time since week 1.
Bill upsets Flannel and their 6 pt line
Bill's Grade: C, offense: D, defense: A+
Flannel Grade: C, offense: C-, defense: C
20 Mimes @ 0 Brawlers
Rumors of Brawlers' resurgence were a bit premature. Mimes' defense played strongly and Hightower provided plenty of offense to overcome another Brawlers' stinker. Mimes get Brawlers again next week with a chance to climb into a 3-way tie for first in the Left if Beavers can repeat their victory over Drow.
Mimes cover their 9.5 pt line
Mime Grade: C-, offense: D, defense: B
Brawler Grade: F-, offense: F, defense: F
13 Old No. 7 @ 27 Ramjets
Ramjets bounce back from last week's sub-par effort with another offensive show. Only Clinton Portis failed to score double digits on offense. Not having a kicker on the field hurt Old No. 7 and wasted a strong defensive effort. Both teams are now three games behind their division leaders and two games behind the last wild card teams.
Ramjets cover their 5.5 pt line
Ramjet Grade: C+, offense: B, defense: D
Old No. 7 Grade: C-, offense: D, defense: A
22 Buffalo Bills @ 29 Hamburgers
Neither team played very well this week. Buffalo broke their year-long cycle by producing their first consecutive bad games. Not the way they wanted to break that cycle. Terrell Suggs probably gets the game bad here for his 17 pt effort.
Hamburglers upset Buffalo and their 9 pt line
