2014 Rule Change Summary
A lot of stuff got changed this off season, so here is a quick list of all the changes.
- Franchising
- Franchising is now capped at 10 active roster players (all 4 practise squad players can also still be franchised).
- The franchising minimum for all positions is now $0.
- Free Agency
- The minimum bid for all positions is now $1.
- Rosters
- The Starting Roster will now include a flex position that can either be a 2nd RB or 3rd WR.
- The Active Roster is now 21 players.
- The cost to move a player from the practice squad to the active roster mid-season is now $2 for all positions.
- Scoring
- Tackles are worth 1 defensive point per team tackle; 2 per team tackle over 25.
- Rushing yards are worth 1 pt per 7 team rushing yards after 126 yards.
- Receiving yards are worth 1 pt per 14 team receiving yards; 1 pt per 7 team receiving yards after 168 yards.
- Playoffs
- The Toilet Bowl is gone.
- New Wild Card Qualifications:
- Any of the top 3 teams by power ranking from the regular season who are not division winners make the playoffs as wild cards. Any remaining wild card slots are filled by the remaining top teams by win-loss record.
- All wild card teams are seeded based on their win-loss record.
- Draft
- In addition to the ping pong balls assigned to teams in the lottery based on their record, ping pong balls will be assigned based on their power rankings. So the worst power ranking among those 6 teams will get 6 more balls, etc. Teams will now have between 2 and 12 ping pong balls based on record and power ranking before the lottery is drawn.
