Week 2 Preview
Last week I was 5-1 on my predictions. Time
to see if it was just a fluke:
Rednecks
(0-1) @ Mighty Midtowne Mimes (1-0)
Rednecks
open with a decent defensive effort from Chandler Jones, singlehandedly eclipsing
the defensive total from my team last week. The Mimes didn't score a bunch, but
the defense is tough. I think Mimes score more this week and handle my team
easily.
Prediction: Mimes blank Rednecks
Mimes 20 –
Rednecks 0
N.Y.
Hamburglers (0-1) @ Bill's Team (1-0)
Both these
teams scored 63 total points last week, so that appears to make them pretty
evenly matched. I’m not exactly sure how
to call this one, but looking at the match ups, I’ll take my changes on the
Ryan/Charles combo, despite the iffy 4 point opening from Edelman.
Prediction: Both team even their records to 1-1 in a
low scoring affair.
Hamburglers
17 – Bill 12
Massaponnax
Maniacs (0-1) @ Capo Di Tutti Capi (1-0)
I think the
Maniacs will improve on their 11 point showing on defense from last week. Will
it be enough to counter Brees and Forte? I’m not betting on it.
Prediction: Capo goes to 2-0.
Capo 33 –
Maniacs 22
Medicine
Hat Bronies (1-0) @ Dynasty (1-0)
This game is
the only one this week that pits two undefeated teams against each other. The
Dynasty squad threw up huge offensive numbers last week, while the Bronies were
mostly fortunate to be playing a team that posted no defensive. I think Dynasty
has another good offensive showing.
Prediction: Dynasty edges out Bronies.
Dynasty 46
– Bronies 35
Drow (1-0)
@ Malleus Maleficarum (0-1)
Malleus got
off to a rough start last night, with Brady posting a meager 10 points. That isn't going to get it done against a
really tough Drow squad. Got a feeling this game could result in one of the more
lopsided losses of Haydn’s FLoF career.
Prediction: Drow smokes the Hammer at home.
Drow 55 –
Malleus 18
Iron City
Lagers (0-1) @ Old No. 7 (0-1)
Both teams
lost last week, despite pretty good point totals from each. This one is another
tough one to call: on the one hand, Foster worries me for the Lagers, while on
the other side, I’m not crazy about Jason’s match ups this week, save Manning. I
think I’m going to call this for the Lagers in a close one.
Prediction: Lagers
get into the win column.
Lagers 34
– No. 7 27

Interesting. The computer only disagreed with Hamburglers - Bill.
I really wish I could disagree, but it looks like I'll have more losses than I did last year after just 2 weeks...
