Week 1 Preview
The new FLoF season is underway. Once NFL game
is already in the books, but if last night’s game is any indication, it’s a
good year to own Denver offensive players.
Predictions are tough to get started with,
but here goes anyway:
Mighty
Midtowne Mimes (0-0) @ N.Y. Hamburglers (0-0)
Hamburglers
open at home with Matt Ryan, who may go all Manning on New Orleans. So far, I don’t
know what to think of the Offense the Mimes are running out there. Until I see
something, taking the safe pick here.
Prediction: Hamburglers win easily.
Hamburglers
38 – Mimes 17
Bill's
Team (0-0) @ Rednecks (0-0)
Despite the
missed draft from Bill, he did pack a good bit of money away, and actually does
have a pretty solid core of players with some nice options still remaining to
fill out the rest of the roster. I think my roster got better, but I still don’t
trust Vick. Hard to make this game out since Bill doesn't have a full
roster.
Prediction: I like Bill’s combo of Cam and Alfred in
a squeaker.
Bill 28 –
Rednecks 26
Dynasty (0-0)
@ Old No. 7 (0-0)
No. 7
welcomes new comer Dynasty into the league with a 60 point opener. Looking at
the rosters of each team, I think Dynasty will make some points, but it won’t
be nearly enough to overcome the early lead.
Prediction: Dynasty begins their first season with a
L.
No. 7 55
– Dynasty 28
Capo Di
Tutti Capi (0-0) @ Malleus Maleficarum (0-0)
Decent start
for the Hammer, but there was nothing special. Speaking of Malleus, Brady
seemingly always has issues with Buffalo. Pretty much why I am going to be taking
Brees and company on the Capo squad.
Prediction: Capo grabs a W away.
Capo 33 –
Malleus 24
Medicine
Hat Bronies (0-0) @ Massaponnax Maniacs (0-0)
The other
new guy on the block, the Maniacs got off to a decent start. Still, color me
unimpressed with Palmer. I like Griffin
and Spiller to push the Bronies into the win column.
Prediction: Bronies hand the new guy a L.
Bronies 36
– Maniacs 23
Iron City
Lagers (0-0) @ Drow (0-0)
This game
features a rematch of last year’s FLoF bowl, and pits two very strong teams
going at each other. I like the start the Lagers got, but I think Drow is
perfectly capable of making up the difference. I think this one is a shootout,
but I think I will side with Drow on this one, mainly due to I don’t know what
to make of Foster yet. Could we see the same teams again playing for a
championship?
Prediction: Drow
wins a shootout.
Drow 60 –
Lagers 51
