Week 2 Rankings: Flannel New #1
1. Flannel, up 4
The first 6 to 8 teams in this ranking are all playing pretty well but Flannel have been the most consistent in cranking out good scores over the last two weeks on both sides of the ball. And they probably have even greater upside considering Addai and Manning have underperformed.
2. Drow, up 4
The offense played better in week two, so we'll move them up and wait for the offense to bring them back down again next week or for the DBs to finally forget that Haydn thought they were utter crap (guys, you listening?).
3. Mimes, up 4
As much as I'd rather not see the Mimes be this good, you have to appreciate the fact that Darin slowly and painfully built this franchise up from one of the worst in the league. He hitched the wagon to two very young players whose talents finally seem to have developed. Will this be the season that Mimes become an elite FLOF franchise for some time to come?
4. Buffalo Bills, down 2
On one hand, they have played two real close, real tough games this year and could easily be 2-0. On the other hand, I said that about Bill's Team for the first half of last year and look what happened to them.
5. Old No. 7, up 5
I know I was down on the whiskey bottle a couple weeks ago, but Romo gives them juice they never had last year. If their luck from the last two years holds, they should contend this year.
6. Bill's Team, up 2
They more then doubled the offense from week 1 to week 2. If they can figure out what to do at QB, they could have something here.
7. CAPO, down 6
Is this the biggest fall from grace in rankings history? Who knows... but CAPO really put up a stinker last week after rocking the house in week 1. Sure, they could probably beat any team above them in these rankings, but it looks like they could also lose to any of them too.
8. Beavers, down 4
This is probably the one I'm going to get the most hate mail for... but although Beavers are 2-0, their week 1 win was a bit lucky and their week 2 win was as much about CAPO's failures as their successes. That said, there is as much potential on this team as on any team above them in the rankings.
9. Ramjets, up 3
After a truly horrible week 1, Ramjets explode on the scene and almost beat Drow in a slugfest. Ramjets almost tripled their offensive output from week 1 to week 2. If week 2 is the real Ramjets, then include them in the scrum from rankings 1 through 8. If week 1 is the real Ramjets, then they belong with the teams on Toilet Bowl watch below here.
10. Hamburglers, down 7
They actually fall farther this week then CAPO. Hamburglers could be the Bill's Team of 2008 -- they look so much better on paper, but they just aren't scoring points. There is plenty of reason for hope: Big Ben and Fast Willie can't play in hurricane remnents every week and maybe LDT's toe gets better. But, I'm a little afraid for them.
11. Malleus, down 2
Last week's implossion was really ugly looking. Both Flannel and Drow are averaging as many defensive points a game as Malleus' total score last week. Someone other then Plaxico is going to have to score some points.
12. Brawlers, down 1
In a week of turmoil in these rankings, Brawlers came through with a steady performance. They scored almost the exact same number of total points as last week. Unfortunately, three different teams have scored as many or more points in one game as Brawlers have scored in their first two combined. I think Favre is requesting a trade... although Westbrook is the one who should be.
