FLOF Pre-Draft Predictions
As usual, I will primarily just look at each team's key offensive players (ie. not kickers) as the basis for this ranking and prediction. I'll make another one post draft that might be based on the whole roster.
1. CAPO -- The Moss-Owens combo looks to be good again this year. But Brees, Romo, and Lynch are no slouches. This team should be dominant.
2. Hamburglers -- The only reason CAPO isn't going undefeated this year is because they have to play Hamburglers twice. Assuming LT2 is OK physically, Hamburglers get to back up one of the best fantasy performers with a very, very good supporting cast in Roethlisberger, Wayne, and Galloway.
3. Bills -- The team formally known as the Rednecks didn't get to last season's FLOF Bowl by accident. But this could be a fragile pick. Tom Brady will essentially have to carry this team with little quality support after Andre Johnson and John seems to be in a little bit of a funk here. Then again, if you take Tom Brady away from this team the entire middle division is pretty bad.
4. Flannel -- Speaking of great QBs carrying their teams... Peyton leads the FLOF version of the Colts with Addai as his primary support. The thing is, this team might not even make the playoffs because of the division.
5. Beavers -- The two-headed beast of McNabb and Adrian Peterson needs to stay healthy. But AP won games by himself last year, so having McNabb to help will make this team that much more dangerous.
6. Brawlers -- This ranking comes with a huge, huge asterik. The only QB on this roster is Brett Favre. That said, Westbrook will probably be the best player on this team wether Favre plays or not. Colston provides great support value. If only Favre lands on his feet...
7. Bill -- This roster does not have any holes in it but Marion Barber and Carson Palmer come with questions -- about durability and the ability to do it for 20 carries and a down season in 07.
8. Drow -- The biggest problem here is at QB. Assuming Steven Jackson and Steve Smith come back right as rain.
9. Ramjets -- Braylon Edwards is clearly the best player on this team. RB is this roster's big issue.
10. Malleus -- I think their QB-RB combo will not be as good as it was last year. In fact, I think its the weak point this year.
11. Mimes -- Frank Gore is the key here. If he becomes the next Marshall Faulk, Darin can let me have it all season. If he becomes Stephen Jackson (under Martz) then this will probably be the right ranking.
12. Old No. 7 -- David Garrard may solve the 7's QB problem. But a formerly strong WR corps looks a lot weaker one year later and Ronnie Brown is still hurting.
Predictions:
CAPO win Right Division and #1 ranking using several tie-breakers over Hamburglers.
Bills win Middle Division without losing once inside the division.
Beavers overcome a Favre-less Brawlers to win the Left and the #3 seed.
Hamburglers get the first wild card spot.
Drow pick up the second wild card spot thanks to a weaker division.
Flannel barely edge out Brawlers for the last wild card spot.
Flannel upsets Beavers in one wild card game.
Hamburglers steam-roll Drow in the other.
CAPO defeats Flannel in on playoff game.
Hamburglers take out the Bills in the other playoff game.
Hamburglers win the FLOF Bowl with CAPO struggling to find a competant play-off RB.
