Week 13: Beavers & Rednecks Clinch; Flannel & Capo also in
Well that settled a lot, but there is still much to fight for next week. Four teams punched their tickets -- two clinching their divisions. But two wild card spots remain open and four (maybe five) different teams have a shot to get in. Oh, and while Mimes have clinched a Toilet Bowl birth, their opponent remains uncertain.
In a game where both teams were firing on all cylinders, Tomlinson kicked it into his extra gear for Hamburglers to earn offensive player of the week and player of the week awards. Tatupu did his best to stop him for Flannel garnering the defensive player of the week award. Although I've given passes to some players in the past for injury, there's no indication that Favre wouldn't have done even more damage to Brawlers if he'd not been hurt, so we give him the goat -- one week after being PoW.
(8-5) Capo 45 @ (6-7) Ramjets 15
Capo keeps rolling, setting up a show-down for the Right Division next week. Capo also clinches at least a wild card spot with the win. Ramjets' loss was cheered in Export as it secured Flannel's spot in the playoffs as well. Ramjets still have a shot next week if Old No. 7 or Brawlers fail to grab a spot.
Grade: A, Offense A, Defense B
Grade: C-, Offense D+, Defense B
Vegas Line: Capo by 30
(6-6-1) Brawlers 3 @ (9-4) Beavers 18
The Brawlers' run comes to an end with Favre's poor, injury-shortened outing. Beavers win their second Left Division crown in three years with this victory and officially become the first team to clinch a playoff spot. Brawlers still control their playoff destiny with the Ramjet loss but now must win next week or hope for mounds and mounds of help.
Grade: D-, Offense F-, Defense B
Grade: C-, Offense C-, Defense C
Vegas Line: Brawlers by 9.5
(8-4-1) Rednecks 32 @ (4-6-3) Malleus 32
I suppose we should have seen this one coming. I'm going to have to take Malleus' ties into account for the playoff scenarios I'm working on. Most importantly for Rednecks, Old No. 7's loss and their tie secures the Middle Division for them.
Grade: C, Offense: C+, Defense C+
Grade: C, Offense C+, Defense D+
Vegas Line: Rednecks by 10.5
(4-8-1) Bill 5 @ (7-6) Old No. 7 2
Make that 2-9* for Old No. 7 against their division over the last 2 years. This one will smart in a couple weeks if Jason finds himself golfing instead of preparing for a playoff game. But Old No. 7 still control their own destiny next week. Ramjets' and Brawlers' losses also gave them some extra cushion -- they can get in with a loss.

(5-8) Hamburglers 44 @ (8-5) Flannel 37
Wow, this was a brawl. Both teams played one of their best games of the season and Hamburglers come away with a close victory. But this game didn't really mean much to Flannel. Their big game is next week for the division. However, Ramjets' and Brawlers' losses did make a playoff birth a certainty for Flannel.

(6-7) Drow 17 @ (4-9) Mimes 0
The Drow D shows up again and keeps Drow in the playoff hunt. But they still will need help, lots of it actually.
