Updated Mock Draft
Cause, why not? No change in my top 5, but I've made tweaks after that.
1) Old No. 7: Peyton Manning (QB, Ind).
Jason is locked in to this pick and moved Flacco in anticipation.
2) CAPO: Shonn Grenne (RB, NYJ).
I still think Greene is his choice with Jamaal Charles and Ryan Matthews as options.
3) Drow: Sam Bradford (QB, Stl).
I haven't made any moves since the last mock so I don't project a change here either. Best available RB would be the other option here--see Jamaal Charles and Ryan Matthews if that's the case.
4) Hamburglers: Ryan Matthews (RB, SD).
Jamaal Charles or LeSean McCoy if Matthews is gone.
5) Flannel: LeSean McCoy (RB, Phi).
Assuming Bradford is gone by now, I think Clay grabs his old RB.
6) IC Lagers: Antonio Gates (WR, SD).
Or... Maybe the strategy changes and Jason picks up some WR or RB help? He certainly has a lot of QBs to look at and Gates should provide immediate impact. I had Tim take Tebow in my earlier mock.
7) Beavers: Dez Bryant (WR, Dal).
WR still seems like Steve's target this draft and Bryant is clearly the guy if you want future potential.
8) Rednecks: Santana Moss (WR, Was).
Getting Flacco from Jason means they are not as desperate for a QB. Flacco gives John depth now and youth for development so I think he goes another direction now and picks up the best available WR to help cushion the Harvin injury situation. There are a ton of options at WR available here so maybe Mike Sims-Walker or Jeremy Maclin or Tony Gonzalez get the call instead.
9) Drow: Jamaal Charles (RB, KC).
No change in this pick either. In this case, Charles may be a stand-in for best available young RB. Other options could include Jahvid Best, C.J. Spiller, and Arian Foster. If Drow go RB with their earlier pick, the QB prospects available later in this mock includes Tebow and Clausen who were not available in the last mock.
10) Mimes: Ray Lewis (DF, Bal).
Mimes have taken a DF with 2 of their 3 first round picks over the last 4 years. So consider Mr. Lewis as a stand-in for whoever Darin has at the top of his DF board.
11) Ramjets: Mike Sims-Walker (WR, Jac).
With Rice's injury I still think he looks for the best available WR here. Jeremy Maclin, Mike Wallace, Pierre Garcon, Donald Driver, Tony Gonzalez and probably a fleet of others are also options.
12) Bill: Jeremy Maclin (WR, Phi).
CJ2K has the RB position locked down and Bill has numbers at QB so I'll have him go WR here but I clearly think there are a number of guys he could chose at this slot.
