Tie-Breakers Explained

So, after advancing the obvious teams to the playoffs we were left with 2 wild card spots unfilled and six 6-8 teams hoping to move to the playoffs.

The first tie-breaker is head-to-head-to-head-... record -- compared by games above or below .500:

Bronies: +2 (4-2)
Old No. 7: +1 (3-2)
Hamburglers: +1 (4-3)
Rednecks: -1 (3-4)
Mimes: -1 (3-4)
RAV: -2 (2-4)

That gets Bronies in as the 2nd wild card but leaves Hamburglers and Old No. 7 still tied.  So we go to step 3 (skipping step 2 since this is a not a division champion situation): record against other playoff teams:

Old No. 7: -2 (2-4)
Hamburglers: -4 (1-5)

That gives Old No. 7 the final playoff spot.

6-8 is the worst record to ever make the FLOF playoffs and this is the first time since expansion to 12 teams that a team with a losing record has made it into the playoffs as a wild card.  Ramjets won the division at 6-7-1 two years ago and Bill was a 6-7 wild card in 2002 in a 10 team league.

For the Toilet Bowl, Capo and Flannel both ended the season 5-9 and split their regular season series.  But Capo had the better record against playoff teams: 4-4 to Flannels 2-6 so Capo will host.
