Week 1 Recap
This week featured divisional matchups across the board, including our two new franchises facing each other to show us what we've gotten ourselves into adding these guys.
Left Division
Two games: The Gainsville Random Acts of Violence (hereafter "GRAV") vs. the Medicine Hat Bronies (hereafter "Bronies"); and the Drow vs. last years champs the Iron City Lagers ("ICL").
GRAV 14 vs. Bronies 33
Bronies are undefeated as a franchise and I wish I had a draft pick so I could've tried to get RGIII. The Beavers made the finals last year, mostly by luck, and had a ridiculous rollercoaster of QBs. RGIII may be just the medicine this franchise needed as he topped the QB scores this week. The Bronies also come in third in overall points and number 2 in D. GRAV didn't have a bad game either, Romo tied for 2nd among QBs and they finished in the top half of total scoring.
Drow 31 vs. ICL 39
Poor Drow, if only you had played the right RB...APs 18 points (or Ridley's 18) would've given Drow 11 more points. Maybe too many RBs isn't a good thing. ICL continues to be awesome, and less one dimensional than last year (Stafford/Megatron accounted for 90% of the O last year) is Arian Foster going to be good again? Crap. Lagers come in 5th overall in scoring, Drow 8th.
Middle (Awesome) Division
Sorry to lose John and Bill to the Right, happy to get to beat Chis and Clay more times a year though.
Capo 17 v. Old No. 7 39
Speaking of new QBs whose that Peyton Manning guy? Devastating loss for Jason last year, but he looks like he right back in. No longer the team that is carried by Seabass, the Whiskey bottle looks good this year. Not to mention Capo, with Brees and Forte, you could say Jason got lucky that Nicks has a bad game and Chris played the wrong WR. Whiskey comes in second in total scoring and tied for first in O, Capo tied with Drow in 8th.
Malleus 31 vs. Flannel 0(-4)
Sorry Clay, my team is still mad that it didn't get to play Lagers for the championship last year. What might have been a close game was dominated by the Malleus D scoring a ridiculous 50 points, 16 more than the still impressive 34 put up by the Bronies. Despite forgetting the draft the Hammer continues to dominate, number 1 in Total, O and D power after 1 week. Maybe I'll actually keep some picks this year...Can't forget to mention an improved Flannel team that I was not looking forward to playing. 7th overall with the 4th best D score, bigger games from Manning, McCoy, et al. will mean bigger Offense in the near future.
Right Division
Could Jamie having a good team translate into wins this year? Will moving out from under the shadow of the Hammer give the Rednecks a chance to win the division? I don't know, we've only played one game.
Rednecks 37 v. Bill 28
Nate Kaeding's 17 points last night make this game look closer than it was. Rednecks come in at a solid 4th in overall points, Bill wasn't last. But with unusally bad games from Newton and CJ2K Bill can easily bounce back. This year when Vick gets hurt, Flacco may actually wins some games for John too.
Mimes 12 vs. Hamburglers 36
Neither team did great, but this year it wasn't Jamie getting the bad matchup. The 'burglers had the 10th best score, but less than 10 separate them from 6th, and if he had played Matt Ryan, he'd be number 3. Mimes had some problems out of the gate, with poor performances almost across the board. That can't happen too aften.

1 Comments:
I knew I was screwed when I saw AP and Ridley had good games... I was certain that meant that Doug Martin was going to fail.
