Draft Lottery
The draft lottery has been changed.
Previously, the bottom 6 teams--those who did not make the playoffs last year--all had an equal chance to the top spot in the upcoming draft. We've now weighted the lottery so that teams with worse records the previous year have a better chance to pick sooner than those teams that just missed the playoffs.
The team with the worst record the prior year now has 6 chances for that top pick, the second worst record has 5, and so on with the best record to miss the playoffs having only 1 chance to make the playoffs.
If you are dying to know exactly how this changes the odds...
The previous system gave every team a 17% chance at the top pick in the draft. Under the new system, the odds obviously vary. The worst team coming out of the previous year now has a 29% chance to get the top spot, 12% better then before. All new odds and change from before below:

| best record | 5% | down 12% |
Of course the odds change again for every subsequent pick selected as someone will leave with their chances, but thats for someone else to worry about.
